Bryan Scott Haines passed away on January 3, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on December 17, 1959, in Lewistown, Pennsylvania.
Bryan pursued his education by graduating from Kishacoquillas High School and later from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy. He served as a local police officer for many years, exemplifying his commitment to community safety and security. Following his time in law enforcement, he worked as a security guard at Standard Steel, and for the latter half of his career, Bryan was a pre-loader at UPS, diligently contributing to the company's operations.
Those who knew Bryan well-cherished his engaging personality. He had a remarkable ability to strike up conversations with anyone, including strangers. Sundays during football season were sacred to Bryan; he was known to be unreachable unless you were watching the Steelers game alongside him - testament to his die-hard loyalty to his team. He also thoroughly enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia.
Bryan’s heart extended beyond football, he had a profound love for animals. He opened his heart and home to several pets throughout his life. He is survived by his wife, Maryann Haines; his son, Derrick Haines, and daughter-in-law, Rachel Haines; his daughter, Megan Portlock, and son-in-law, Greg Portlock; and his younger daughter, Annalise Haines, along with her significant other, Dante Whited. Bryan also leaves behind his granddaughters, Gianna and Myla Portlock. He is also remembered fondly by his siblings, Barbara Watkins, Carol Love, and their respective partners, Greg Watkins and Joel Love.
Bryan joins his late mother, M. Ruth Haines; father, Warren Haines; and sister, Patricia LeMay, in eternal rest. As we remember Bryan, we celebrate a life full of compassion, commitment, and countless cherished moments. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
