Christine Marie Bumbarger, age 70, of Clearfield, passed away peacefully at her home on September 27th, 2024 after a long battle with dementia.
Born on May 3, 1954, in Niagara Falls, NY, Christine was the daughter of the late William and Serena (Crapis) English. After completing her education, she began her career at Shortway Products and later joining FCI of Clearfield.
On April 19, 1980, Christine married Harold Bumbarger, at St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Clearfield, PA. Together, they built a beautiful family filled with love and laughter. As a devoted mother, Christine found joy in raising her children, and she embraced every opportunity to be involved in their lives, serving as a troop leader for both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
Christine was proud to work at JCPenney until her retirement in 2017, and she also held a part-time position as an assistant at Doerfler and Associates for many years. Her kind and welcoming nature made her a friend to all who crossed her path, and she had a special talent for making everyone feel valued and appreciated.
Christine loved visiting her children wherever they resided, and she treasured every moment spent with family. Her spirit and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Christine is survived by her beloved husband, Harold Bumbarger; her two children, Aaron Bumbarger of Austin, TX, and Lisa Merida and her husband Alexander of Arlington, VA; her granddaughter, Luciana Merida; and her sister, Cynthia Crowe and her husband Dan of Harrisburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Brynn Bumbarger.
Honoring Christine’s wishes, there will be no public viewing or services.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to 365 Hospice for everything they did for Christine while she was in their care.
