Born on October 14, 1953 in Topeka, Kansas, she was the daughter of Gordon L. Irwin and the late Julia A.(Hooten) Irwin.
Mrs. Bressler possessed a B.S. in both Secondary Education and Library Science, a M.Ed. in Reading Education, and a M.S. in Library Science, all from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to that, she was the Coordinator of the Educational Resources Center at Western Kentucky University.
She is survived by her former spouse, Allen G. Bressler of Curwensville, and her three children, David G. Bressler of Winburne, Anita L. Bressler of Clearfield, and Kelly J. Bressler of Curwensville.
