Deborah J. Pigott (75) of State College, PA, died December 20, 2024 at home. 

She was born in Urbana, Illinois on September 16, 1949, the second child of Miles Thomas Pigott and Virginia Elizabeth Hall Pigott. 

She graduated from the State College Area High School and later earned her B.A. (Art) and B.S. (Art Education) and K-12 Teaching Certificate from the Pennsylvanian State University, where she received the Mount Alto Literary Award. She worked locally as an art teacher. She leaves behind two brothers, Andrew Pigott and his wife Janiene of Boalsburg, PA, and Anthony Pigott and his wife Sandi of Plaistow, N.H., and four sisters, Rebecca Forcey and her husband Philip of Lynchburg, VA, Barbara Pigott of Los Alamos, NM., Nancy Decker of Jerusalem, Israel, and Amy Patton and her husband Douglas of Athens, AL, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. 

She enjoyed nature, reading, gardening, and the arts.

A private funeral service for family members will be held January 8, 10:00 am at the State College Chinese Alliance Church, 1250 University Drive, State College, PA. The funeral service will be followed by a committal service at the Boalsburg Cemetery.
