Frederick Malcolm Campbell, age 64, of Luthersburg, PA, died Monday, March 18, 2024, at his home. Born November 28, 1959, in DuBois, PA, he was the son of Alma Lee (Goodson) Campbell and the late Frederick Charles Campbell. On October 15, 1983, he married the love of his life, Antoinette (“Toni”) Elizabeth (Lellock) Campbell, who survives. They celebrated 40 years of incredible marriage in October 2023.
A lifelong resident of Luthersburg, Frederick, known by those closest to him as “Ferd,” was a true handyman, teaching himself numerous skills that he used to build and continuously improve his family’s home, which he and Toni lovingly built in 1996. He enjoyed working and maintaining his property, spending time outdoors, and always seemed to find a “project” to keep him busy. His career in manufacturing, quality assurance, and sales spanned over four decades across western Pennsylvania. A graduate of the DuBois Area High School in 1977, Ferd went on to later complete his associate degree from Penn State DuBois, all while working full time. In his free time, he also enjoyed learning and researching history, spending time with his family, including his dogs Tucker and Philo, and could often be heard or found singing one of his many favorite classic country songs. His favorite evenings were spent with his wife, sitting by a campfire, and enjoying the life they built together.
In addition to his wife, Ferd is survived by his children, Afton Renee (Campbell) Sterling (husband Cole Sterling) and Kristen Louise (Campbell) Plotner (husband Jason Plotner). He is also survived by his mother, Alma Lee (Goodson) Campbell, his brother, George Earl Campbell (wife Roxanne (Secco) Campbell), numerous nieces and a nephew, and his two grandsons, George Frederick Sterling (11) and Grantham Osman Campbell Sterling (9), for whom he was lovingly known and will always be remembered as “PeePaw.”
There will be no visitation, and a private family service will be held at a later date. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Luthersburg Union Cemetery, PO Box 14, Luthersburg, PA, 15848, or an animal rescue or shelter of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are under the care of PA Simple Cremation, Clearfield, PA.
