Gregory Elliot Modie passed away August 7, 2016, in Bellefonte. He was a resident of Boalsburg where he lived with his mother, Phyllis Day.
Greg was born on June 7, 1964, in Mariemont, Ohio. He graduated from State College High School in 1982. He moved to California shortly after high school for a short period but spent most of his adult life residing in Boalsburg.
Greg managed his landscaping and personal services business until he became ill in 2014. When asked what he did for a living his reply was âI help old people stay in their homesâ. He was loved and appreciated by his many customers who considered him one of their own family. Greg enjoyed being outdoors whether working, taking long walks, or hiking in the White Mountains.
Greg was an avid football fan and loved to see the NE Patriots lose. He loved animals and always had a cat or a dog following him around.
Greg is survived his mother; his father and step-mother, Richard and Christine Modie, who reside in Yulee, Fla. and Franconia, N.H.
Greg has two brothers, Douglas Modie who resides with his wife Suman and daughter Sarina in Minneapolis, Minn.; and Noah Modie who resides in Northampton, Mass.
A third brother, Adam Modie, preceded him in death.
A simple graveside ceremony in Boalsburg returned Gregâs ashes to the earth.
The family has requested that any friends who wish to honor Gregâs memory make a contribution to the American Cancer Society for GBM research, or to the Animal Rescue League or the SPCA.
