Larry Haversack

September 3, 1947 — July 14, 2021

Larry Arnold Haversack Sr., 73, of Hyde died on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at the Penn Highlands DuBois.

He was born on September 3, 1947 in Clearfield, a son of the late Charles and Lottie (Rader) Haversack.

He was a member of the Clearfield VFW, and lifetime member of the Hyde Volunteer Fire Department.

Haversack served with the U. S. Army as an infantry combat soldier during the Vietnam War.

Larry was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family.

He was Baptist by faith.

Larry served as a police officer for the Lawrence Twp. Police Department and also worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Lawrence Twp. Road Crew. He also worked in maintenance at the Days Inn, Clearfield.

He is survived by two children, Cher Jackson and husband Dave of Philipsburg, and Larry Haversack, Jr. and companion Amy Blowers of Clearfield; four grandchildren, Taylor Mulligan and husband James of Phoenix, AZ, David Jackson of Philipsburg, Alea Blowers of Clearfield, and Larry Haversack III of South Carolina; eight siblings, Marie Luzier and husband Brian of Woodland, Teresa Cowder and husband Lonnie of Woodland, Judy Fye of Hyde, Kathleen Fiolek of Erie, Barbara Howe of Port Charlotte, FL, James Haversack and wife Mary of Hyde, Dean Haversack of Hyde, and Francis Haversack and companion Michele Bloom of Hyde; lifelong friend, Pat Adams; loving niece, Heather Hoover; special friend, Nevin Bloom; numerous nieces and nephews, and his side kick, Weedgie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Breanna Royer; a brother, Charles S. Haversack Sr.; and niece, Tammy Sipe.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Clearfield VFW, 1145 Industrial Park Road, Clearfield, PA 16830.
