Mary Margaret McKenna transitioned peacefully at the age of 95 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center on December 14, 2021. Mary, “Skip” as she was known by many, was born in Curwensville, PA to Harry M and Eliza B (Derrick) Weisgarber on November 17, 1926. She and her brother John C. (Cal) Weisgarber Sr. were life-long residents of the area and members of St Paul’s United Methodist Church, Grampian.
Mary graduated from Curwensville High School and retired from Curwensville Heating and Plumbing in 1996. She was an avid football fan with die-hard affection for the Dallas Cowboys despite living in Steeler Nation territory. Mary enjoyed reading and loved animals, especially cats.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her first husband Arthur Dwyer, Sr., her second-husband William (Bill) McKenna, and her son David Dwyer, her companion Marvin (Swede) Anderson, her brother Cal and infant brother Frederick. Mary is survived by son Arthur Dwyer of Kingman, AZ; two grandsons, Kevin Dwyer and partner Nicole Monary of San Diego, CA and Mark Dwyer and partner Sabrina Adams of Eatonton, GA; and granddaughter Cherie Kunik of Decatur, GA.
The family will hold a private service with interment at Oak Hill Cemetery in Curwensville.
