Ray B. Shields of Huntingdon, PA, died comfortably in his home on Monday May 10, 2021 under the care of Kindred Hospice.
He was born on June 20, 1941 in Mount Union. His surviving spouse is Connie S Shields of Huntingdon and his two daughters Kathy Bush and Raylene Rader of Huntingdon and two stepdaughters Eve Yoder of Allensville and Jennifer Cardinal of Mill Hall.
He is the son of the late Oscar and Myrtle Shields and one of five late brothers; Robert, Ronald, Ralph, and Rodney.
He had 5 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. In his lifetime he coached Huntingdon City League Softball and Little League 1959-1981 and was a member of Stone Creek Valley Lions Club 1972-1990. Ray worked at the Huntingdon Area School District 1961-1988 and DC Goodman and Sons 1988 to when Covid struck in 2020. Ray enjoyed spending time with family, having picnics, and card games with friends. He enjoyed basketball, softball, and playing bingo. He loved helping his customers the many years he spent working at DC Goodman and Sons.
Ray was a loving husband, father, grand and great grandfather. A living goodbye ceremony was held in the comfort of his home on Saturday May 8th.
