Raymond Joseph Garvey

Raymond J. Garvey of Brookville, Pa passed away on November 25, 2024. 

He was born on February 10, 1943. Ray was the son of Joseph & Martha Garvey. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Stanley Garvey (brother), Steven Garvey (son) and Jonathon Hudson (Grandson). Raymond is also survived by children, David (Kristi Garvey), Daniel (Janna) Garvey, Kari (Steven) Hudson). His Grandchildren are, Cody (Kia Lutz) Garvey, Brennin Warnell, Taylor Hudson, Bailey Hudson, Darrian Garvey, Jonathon Garvey and Peyton Garvey. Great Grandchildren are Reyce Garvey, Westyn Garvey, Madison Hudson, Deliah Stevenson and Bradley Hudson. Ray has also left behind his sister Fay Noonan, Sister, Sue (Brian) Caruso and brother Michael Garvey. 

Ray loved the outdoors. When he wasn't hunting with his recurve bow, he used his shotgun or rifle. He had another love, as an artist. He was well known for painting business signs by hand. His real passion was painting outdoor scenes, whether a farm, animals, birds, deer and moose and, of course, portraits. Ray was a jack of all trades. He would tackle any project. He never said, I don't know how. He said I will find out how. Ray would work 2 and 3 jobs if necessary. He served a year in the Air Force in Greenland. Through the years, Ray served in the National Guard and also the army reserves. In 2010 he met his current wife, Eileen Lemaire. From the start, it was obvious they had a lot in common. They went on to enjoy life together no matter the ups and downs they encountered. But on November 25th, 2024, he lost his last battle. 

Ray's last wishes were to be cremated and declined to have any formal funeral.
