Robert “Bob” Chester Mishler Sr., 88, of Clearfield, passed away on September 7, 2022, while a patient at Penn Highlands Clearfield with his family by his side. Born August 18, 1934, in Dale, PA, he was the son of the late Chester L. and Agnes (Duman) Mishler.
Bob served in the US Army Signal Corps as a switchboard operator. He worked as a Linotype machine operator at Kurtz Bros. in Clearfield for 33 years. Alongside his brother Donald, he was an assistant coach for the St. Patrick Grade School basketball team where they won many championships in the 1950’s.
Bob walked everywhere and was well known for walking the streets of Clearfield smoking a pipe. He was an avid fisherman and fished the same hole under Market Street Bridge for over 30 years. He also enjoyed watching sports, hunting, coin collecting, and spending time with his son’s family. His grandsons brought him great joy.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his young son, Robert C. Mishler Jr.; brothers, Donald G. Mishler (Shirley) and Edward L. Mishler Sr. (Olga); a sister, Joyce Jones (Walter); and former spouse, Nancy (Fisher) Mishler.
He is survived by his son Robert M. Mishler (Brenda); grandchildren, Gabriel, Zachary, and Benjamin Mishler.
Arrangements have been entrusted to PA Simple Cremation of Clearfield, PA. At Bob’s request there will be no services.
